What we’ve seen so far the next Spider-Man film costume is pretty bad. Here’s an analysis of what it looks like. We don’t see the mask here, but it looks like some kind of rubber or latex. It’s textured and has the iconic Spider-Man logo on the chest. Its pretty torn up, but looks a lot like the comic book. The red-blue color scheme is the same and has the webbing pattern across the red portions. So far, underwhelming, but traditional. There’s something different about the sleeves though. Let’s look deeper. This unofficial set picture shows a full body view. Here’s where we…

Here’s what’s on sci-fi this week. Human Target is moving to its new time on Monday nights. This could be good or bad since the ratings have been dismal this season. The tag line for Tron: Legacy is “The game has changed” and it has, but not for the better. The movie is about the son of a brilliant software engineer who has disappeared and Sam Flynn’s quest to find him in a virtual computer world. Our favorite science fiction show is coming to Ovation! Starting on January 3, the cable station Ovation will air a week-long prime-time marathon of Joss Whedon’s sci-fi/western series, Firefly. In case you missed it, the show is set in the future where a rowdy crew of mercenaries explore a solar system that operates much like the Old West. It was really a groundbreaking series that starred then relatively-unknown actors like Nathan Fillion (ABC’s Castle) and Summer Glau (FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Firefly’s unique look and special effects even ended up being imitated by Battlestar Galactica. Each night, Ovation…

Everyone knows the classic 1985 film Back to the Future featured a boyish Michael J. Fox in a winning performance as Marty McFly. But Fox was not the original McFly. In fact, Eric Stoltz (best known to sci-fi fans as Daniel Graystone in Caprica) was five weeks into shooting the famed McFly role when director and co-writer Robert Zemeckis made a drastic production decision – changing his lead actor. The rest is pop-culture history, but how and why did it happen?

1. Wonder Woman War – Lynda Carter and Megan Fox have gotten into a war of words over Wonder Woman. Rumors that Megan Fox would be playing Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie were dashed when she was quoted in the London Times trashing the superheroine: “Wonder Woman is a lame superhero. She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role, but I don’t want to do it.”When asked about her comments on…

We at Geek Twins were recently made aware of a very low-budget movie that’s nonetheless causing a splash in the sci-fi community. Written and directed by Brennan Reed, Enemy Mind was shot for just nine thousand dollars, and most of that budget was really spent hiring Ernest Borgnine to voice one character, Commander. The rest was spent filming two unknown actors in the Salton Sea area of Southern California’s Imperial Valley. Enemy Mind tells the story of two men, the only survivors of a spaceship crash, forced to grapple with each other on a remote planet. One man is an…

George Lucas is filming a documentary on Star Wars fans at Star Wars Convention V this month called The Stories Project. This is probably because of all the negative publicity generated by the documentary The People Vs. George Lucas. The film is basically a series of interviews trying to figure out why fans are so mad at George Lucas for messing with Star Wars. They’re trying to counter it with a film about fans who think everything is just lovely in the SW universe. My fondest Star Wars memory is hearing the audience cheer as Darth Vader lifts Emperor Palpatine…

The dorkiest wedding I’ve ever seen is the one between a guy and a girl dressed as Batman and Wonder Woman. I’ve seen a lot of costume weddings, from Star Trek to Star Wars and this is the worst. Ever. Where to start? Neil Vaugh, 45, said “I have always wanted to be Batman, ever since I was a little boy and Sharon said she had always wanted to be Wonder Woman.” Compromise is an essential part of marriage. It would have made more sense for Superman and Wonder Woman to get married. Or Batman and Catwoman. Or Superman and Supergirl if…
