I’ll admit the genre feels overdone after movies like, but this one is pretty exciting. There are only a handful of Minority actors that can open a big action movie like this, but Johnson is the man that can make it happen. Here’s the official synopsis:After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a…

Find out more about the enigmatic star of Octopussy and Swamp Thing, Louis Jourdan. Sadly, the great French actor Louis Jordan died Saturday February 14, 2015 at the age of 93. Wilmore asked, “Can you just be in a store, as a parent, and you see a kid doing something wrong, is it OK to tell that kid ‘you need to stop’? Kids like that creepy kid from Children of the Corn, or that weird white faced kid in Dark City? Maybe they’re…
Miles Morales as Ultimate Spider-Man Here’s why using Miles Morales in a Spider-Man movie is not ridiculous. Yesterday, it was announced that Spider-Man is joining the Marvel CinematicUniverse and many suggested that Marvel use Miles Morales, the Marvel “Ultimate” comics version of Spider-Man. Some on the Internet responded with anger and vitriol at the idea. We know Marvel isn’t going to do it because, while they are taking the character “on a new creative direction” they’ve said that it will be Peter Parker that continues the journey. But, that doesn’t mean the idea is worthless. Interestingly enough, the most common…
Find out why Man-Thing is back with Marvel Studios. Since last year, a question that keeps coming up is why does Lions Gate own Man-Thing? We finally updated our Marvel movie rights infographic and took the opportunity to put him in the right place. First of all, Man-Thing is a creature made out of swamp muck that has no brain, is inhumanly strong, but is driven with the impulse to burn anyone with strong emotions. He was originally a scientist named Ted Sallis that was working on a “super soldier” serum similar to what created Captain America. He was ambushed…
Cosplayers have an amazing gift. They inspire and embody everything that geeks and fans love. They not only love their characters, but bring them to life. This is true of people of all races and they celebrate the diversity. One sad reality though is that some in the community are pushing back against cosplayers that are of the opposite race. They complain about “authenticity”. While it’s true that the more that cosplayer looks like the original character the better the costume there should be no limits on skin tone. Cosplay is definied as a movement by fans to dress up…

Man of Steel (2013) – Superman (Henry Cavill) What’s your favorite power of Superman? In the latest issue of Superman #38, Superman discovers that he has a new “super flare” power. Blastr describes it this way, “As far as we understand it, this new power has him expel all the energy in his cells in order to create a bright and powerful blast that can incinerate everything within a quarter mile.” The downside is it takes all his power away and he becomes temporarily human. While everyone knows his standard superpowers he’s also had some impressive powers that he no…

X-Men (1992) – Storm Why doesn’t the 1990s Storm have an African accent? Halle Berry has played the live action Storm in four of the X-Men movies and did an amazing job. Storm’s been recast and will be played by Alexandra Shipp in the upcoming Marvel movie X-Men: Apocalypse. Storm’s supposed to be from Kenya and one of the most frequent complaints about Storm’s appearance in the X-Men movies is her non-existent African accent. Storm’s the first black female in mainstream comics and is a mutant who has the ability to summon and control the weather. Back in the…
