Well, 2013 is upon us, but some of our posts from 2012 are still going strong. Which ones have stood the test of time? Here are the five most popular posts from December 2012.

    1. Map of the USA ala’ Lord of the Rings – This one was about a map someone drew of the United States in the style of a map of Middle Earth from Lord of the Rings, complete with massive inaccuracies and notable landscapes. Apparently, this post from April exploded because of interest from the new movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. I still think it’s pretty funny.

    2. In-Depth Analysis of ‘Man of Steel’s’ Goofy Superman Costume – Excitement is building for the new Superman movie, Man of Steel. Our analysis of the new Superman costume has drawn a lot of attention and controversy. What do you think?

    3. Orion Women of ‘Star Trek’ Gallery – This one featuring photos from Star Trek about the green alien slave women from Orion has been a big hit. What can I say about this one? Geeks think green is sexy.

    4. 10 Free ‘Star Wars’ Darth Vader Desktop Wallpapers – Everyone loves something free, and every geek loves Darth Vader. Combine the two, and you have this post from June which is still going strong.

    5. 15 Cool Things You Didn’t Know About ‘The Dark Knight’ Rising – This one tells some interesting and unique trivia about how The Dark Knight Rises was filmed, from where the prison pit was located to why Catwoman was never called Catwoman.

    Honorable Mentions:

    • 6 Reasons Why ‘Batman and Robin’ Was the Greatest Superhero Movie Ever
    • 10 Awesome X-Men Stories That Would Make Great Movies
    • 10 Surprising Facts About Chewbacca
    • ‘King Daddy’-sized Man of Steel Trailer Breakdown
