Foundation actress T’Nia Miller has been cast as Jacosta in the upcoming Vision series.
There were rumors that Marvel Studios’ WandaVision spin-off, focusing on Paul Bettany’s Synthezoid, would introduce Jocasta to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Deadline confirmed that the role had been filled.
According to Deadline, Miller will portray Jocasta, who is characterized as “cunning, powerful, and driven by revenge.”
There is a possibility that Jocasta will eventually join the Avengers, but she will be a villain. Jocasta was created by Jim Shooter and George Pérez and made her debut in The Avengers #162 (1977). In the comics, Janet van Dyne’s brainwaves were used to produce Jocasta, who would eventually become Jocasta Pym, who was intended to be Ultron’s bride. It’s unclear if the character’s live-action debut will have a comparable backstory.
In addition, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy-winning actor James Spader will return to his role as the voice of the robotic villain Ultron. In 2015, he portrayed the character for the first time in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Paul Bettany played the part of Vision, the android who fell in love with the Scarlett Witch before being destroyed by Thanos. He reappeared in WandaVision as a rebuilt android, now ghostly white, but also through magic and the force of grief.
The unnamed Vision project has been referred to as “the third part of a trilogy that started with WandaVision and continues in Agatha All Along.” It may or may not be called Vision Quest.
Last year, we learned that the show had undergone a makeover, with Terry Matalas, an executive producer of Star Trek: Picard, joining as showrunner.
