Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi epic sequel, Dune: Part Two. There’s lots of worm-riding and more of a focus on Zendaya’s role as Paul’s guide and love interest Chani. They have great chemistry. So I’m sure her boyfriend Tom Holland will be watching the new Dune movie closely to see how good their chemistry is.

    Watch the trailer below:

The studio also dropped the first poster.

The worm riding scene is a highlight of the original 1984 film.

In 2021’s Dune, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) travels to Arrakis, the sandiest, dirtiest and most dangerous planet in the universe, to secure the future of his family and people while the forces of evil erupt in conflict. Denis Villeneuve’s film based on Frank Herbert’s first Dune novel was nominated for 10 Oscars and won six. The movie also made almost half a billion dollars and ended on a cliff-hanger.

For the sequel, Atreides joins Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen in a quest for revenge on those who destroyed his family. He also has to reconcile his love life with the fate of the universe. The pinnacle of the trailer shows Paul riding a giant sandworm through the deserts of Arrakis. Chani and the Fremen cheer him on and so did I to be honest. There are also first appearances by bald Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha Harkonnen, granddaughter of Baron Harkonnen Stellan Skarsgård, and Princess Irulen, played by Florence Pugh, daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV, played by Christopher Walken. Paul has eaten the Fremen’s mystical drug known as “Spice” and now has blue eyes.

The trailer also teases the looming war in which Paul now commands a powerful army of Fremen. The only thing missing is Christopher Walken’s glorious role as the Emperor. I’m sure it will be epic and add even more cowbell.

The Spice will flow November 3, 2023. I’m sure Tom Holland will be watching too.
