    1. X-Force #39

    Publisher: Marvel Comics
    Writer: Benjamin Percy
    Artist: Robert Gill
    Cover Artist: Joshua Cassara
Partial Summary: “COLOSSUS AND WOLVERINE JOIN X-FORCE! It’s a NEW ERA for X-FORCE, and a new era means new members! Be here as LAURA KINNEY, A.K.A. WOLVERINE, and PIOTR RASPUTIN, A.K.A. COLOSSUS, join the team. Let’s just hope one of them isn’t harboring a SECRET set to destroy their teammates…! LEGACY #279”
    On Sale: April 18, 2023
    Price: $3.99

Review: Beast is going to face justice and Logan is now gone. X-Force #39 offers a rebuilding phase in an story that sums up what came before and gives a new status quo and order. While the X-Force feels like a team book that lacks a team. This comic has lots of characters and each has a chance in the spotlight.

    2. Static: Shadows of Dakota #3

    Publisher: Milestone
    Writer: Vita Ayala, Nikolas Draper-Ivey
    Artist: Nikolas Draper-Ivey
    Cover Artist: Nikolas Draper-Ivey
Partial Summary: “While Virgil and his dad investigate the recent disappearances of Bang Babies, we learn more about the mysterious leader of the vigilantes. Can Static get to the bottom of these sinister abductions before more kids get captured? Meanwhile, Ebon goes to Paris Island to follow a lead on his missing Brother’s whereabouts but the Blood Syndicate don’t take kindly to strangers coming on their turf!”

Review: Nikolas Draper-Ivey features some beautiful artwork in this issue. It’s not as good as some of his earlier work. But the images are unique and have a great style that catches the eye at all times. Vita Ayala and Draper-Ivey have crafted a great story with a terrifying villain.

    On Sale: April 18, 2023
    Price: $3.99

    3. Batman / Superman: World’s Finest #14

Review: Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #14 has the perfect blend of innovative storytelling and strong visuals. Waid’s writing does justice to all the characters. Dan Mora’s art takes everything to the next level. If you’ve been waiting to get started reading this series, now is the perfect time.

    4. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #5

    Publisher: Marvel Comics
    Writer: Jordan Ifueko
    Artist: Alba Glez
Cover Artist: Rain Beredo, Ken Lashley
Partial Summary: “An epic final showdown! Moon Girl and the SAD SAKs have one chance to stop OMG Olivia before she takes over the other Inhumans—and their teammate Tasha—for good. And to do that, they have to bring the fight to influencer Olivia at an exclusive gala. Lunella can handle dressing to the nines and teaching a dinosaur table manners, but can she save her new friends before they’re forced to turn on her?”
    On Sale: April 19, 2023
    Price: $3.99

Review: This adorable entry concludes Lunella’s unsolved cases as she and her dinosaur save the world with the help of her friends. Jordan Ifueko crafts a charming story and Alba Glez has a lot of fun with these charming characters.

Buy Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur 5& on Amazon

    5. Bishop: War College #3

    Publisher: Marvel Comics
    Writer: J. Holtham
Artist: Sean Damien Hill, Alberto Foche
Cover Artist: Ken Lashley, Juan Fernandez
Partial Summary: “TWO BISHOPS, TWO PASTS—AND ONLY ONE LEADS TO THE FUTURE! Back on Krakoa, Blightswill is sweeping the island, poisoning mutantkind’s sentient paradise. The trainees Bishop left behind are outnumbered and outpowered. Trapped underground and leaderless, can they band together to save their home, or is Orchis’ long game finally about to pay off?”
    On Sale: April 19, 2023
    Price: $3.99

Review: The multiple storylines are coming together but it still feels hit or miss. Hopefully it’ll come together in the next last two issues. But Bishop: War College #2 is a fantastic look into Bishop’s mind and his impact on the X-Men. His plot has always been a bit tragic, and watching him process those thoughts and emotions provides a great premise for the story.

    6. Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow #1

    Publisher: DC Comics
    Writer: Simon Spurrier, Kenny Porter
    Artist: Marco Santucci, Jahnoy Lindsay
    Cover Artist: Jahnoy Lindsay
Partial Summary: “Conner Kent takes center stage! After the events of Dark Crisis, Conner feels out of place with the rest of the hero community. He doesn’t fit in with the rest of the Superman Family, and the rest of the world doesn’t really need him with so many Supers in Metropolis. He doesn’t want to rely on Tim, Cassie, and Bart, so Conner looks to the stars as a place he might be able to call his own and carve out his own path. But what lurks in the great unknown? Are bravado and swagger enough to help Superboy find his new calling? This is the 2022 Round Robin winner-picked by you, the fans!”
    On Sale: April 19, 2023
    Price: $4.99

Review: Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow #1 is a great example of giving characters space. There’s an entire multiverse that needs hope.  All the creators involved are top notch and fill every page with joy and energy. The writing and graphics are solid and the adventure is interesting. It’s good to see the cult-favorite Superboy running his own comic again.

    7. Superman #3

    Publisher: DC Comics
    Writer: Joshua Williamson
    Artist: Jamal Campbell
    Cover Artist: Jamal Campbell
Partial Summary: “CHAPTER THREE: A LEAP OF FAITHSUPERMAN’S LOVED ONES ARE TRANSFORMED INTO RAVENOUS PARASITES! – If Superman wants to find Parasite-Zero before its influence spreads to the whole world, he must take Lex up on his offer to work together! Even if it means using another of Superman’s enemies as bait!”
    On Sale: April 18, 2023
    Price: $4.99

Review: Superman feels revitalized by this new creative team. They bring strong creativity to the title. Superman #3 concludes the Parasite Crisis story in a satisfying way. But they stay focused on the elements that have made it a hit in the past. I’m looking forward to the future storylines Joshua Williamson and Jamal Campbell have planned for the series.

    8. The Amazing Spider-Man #24

    Publisher: Marvel Comics
    Writer: Zeb Wells
    Artist: John Romita Jr.
Cover Artist: John Romita Jr., Scott Hanna, Marcio Menyz
Partial Summary: “Witness what brought Peter Parker and Norman Osborn together. Your opinion of who the hero is and who the villain is may end up at least blurred…LEGACY #918”
    On Sale: April 19, 2023
    Price: $3.99

Review: The Amazing Spider-Man #24 isn’t perfect. But there are great character moments. John Romita Jr. provides his usual polished visual storytelling and it’s hard to put the book down. Where the story is going is still up in the air. It’s a fun read though.

Buy The Amazing Spider-Man 24& on Amazon

    9. She-Hulk #12

    Publisher: Marvel Comics
    Writer: Rainbow Rowell
    Artists: Joe Quinones, Andrés Genolet
    Cover Artist: Jen Bartel
Official Summary:  “She-Hulk reaches the landmark 175th issue! Not only does She-Hulk find herself face-to-face with the brand-new villain, Scoundrel, but she also puts her whole law practice in danger! All this, plus bonus stories that will have people talking! LEGACY #175”
    On Sale: April 19, 2023
    Price: $4.99

Review: The main story is very funny and it’s great to see the Fantastic Four members together again. The bonus story gives amazing performances from so many women! Rowell’s greatest ability is to make Jen likable and relatable in the face of adversity. This comic is a great way to celebrate the 175th issue of She-Hulk. Plus Joe Quinones awesome artwork in the extra story is wonderful.

    Buy Punisher 11& on Amazon

    10. The Flash #797

    Publisher: DC Comics
    Writer: Jeremy Adams
    Artist: Tom Derenick, Serg Acuña
    Cover Artist: Taurin Clarke
Partial Summary: “MISADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING – It’s a super-speed misadventure in babysitting as Kid Flash watches Jai and Irey, the Flash’s children! When a sleepover goes awry, Ace has to bring back the twins, Maxine, and a few new friends from across time and space!”
    On Sale: April 18, 2023
    Price: $3.99

Review: Flash #797 is a goofy comic that has no role in the Flash story arc. It follows the Flash Kids and Animal Girl with no adults in sight. Despite a weak storyline and an art style that changes mid-stream, it’s a fun experience.

That Superboy comic is something Marvel does a lot: when you run out of ideas, shoot the character into space!

I’d check out the Spider-Man one because Zeb Wells is a longtime Robot Chicken writer and co-creator of Supermansion.
