One thing you can say about Star Wars fans. They love a good party. When we’re not arguing about who shot first and if Yoda was better as a puppet, we’re celebrating the most successful space movie franchise in history in epic proportions.

    Take one common movie phrase
“May the Force be with you,” add one common pun “May the Fourth be with
you” and you have “Star Wars day”. Every year, Star Wars fans around the
world celebrate the culture and history of the films.

On this day, there well be many celebrations. Stormtroopers will march and Star Wars movie marathons will commence.

Let’s look back at the 10 greatest and craziest ways fans have celebrated George Lucas’ favorite holiday: Star Wars Day.

    10. Star Wars Blu-Ray Release

Lucasfilm teased they would reveal details for the upcoming Blu-Ray of the Star Wars series on May 4th 2011. Fans were told to visit Maythe4th.starwars.com at 6 a.m. PST for the big news. Millions of fans swarmed the site and it crashed.

    9. A Capella Star Wars Theme

    N
    Mckaig
did a solo A Capella cover of the Star Wars Main Title song released just in time for May 4th.

    8. Disneyland

Disneyland has always had fun with it’s Star Wars Weekend and dancing Darth Vader, but this year they’re going all out. Now that Disney owns Star Wars, the studio is having a great big party for the film at Disney’s Hollywood Studio.

    7. Margaret Thatcher’s Newspaper Ad

    Image cbsnews

Back in 1979, when Margaret Thatcher was elected Britain’s first female Prime Minister, her party placed an ad in The London Evening News that said “May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations.” So thank the British for Star Wars Day

    6. Star Wars Day Toronto

In 2011, the first organized celebration of Star Wars Day took
place in Toronto, Canada. It was called “International Star Wars Day
    Toronto
.” The celebration had a trivia contest (of course), a
costume contest and screenings of the best parodies, mashups and
    remixes.

    5. 2007 Rose Bowl Parade

At the 2007 Rose Bowl Parade, in celebration of the 30th anniversary,
George Lucas was made Grand Marshall. The parade had two Star Wars floats
and a battalian of Stormtroopers from the 501st Legion. Watch the video
    here.

    4. Every Star Wars Movie Ever Made

Every Star Wars film was released in the month of May.

    • Star Wars was released on May 25, 1977.
    • The Empire Strikes Back was released on May 21, 1980.
    • Return of the Jedi was released on May 25, 1983.
    • The Phantom Menace was released on May 19, 1999.
    • Attack of the Clones was released on May 16, 2002.
    • Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Si th was released on May 19, 2005.

The whole trilogy is one long celebration of May.

    3. Star Wars Celebration II

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Star Wars, and the May 16th release
of Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of
    The Clones,
Lucasfilm stuffed the Indianapolis Convention Center
from May 3-5, 2002 and called it “Star Wars Celebration 2.”
They originally thought between 15-20,000 people per day would come. Boy, were they wrong when over 75,000 people showed up!

    2. George Lucas X-Wing Pilot Action Figure

Star Wars Celebration 2 was also the release of the massively
    successful Jorg
    Sacul X-Wing pilot figure
    with George Lucas’ head. Sacul’s
described as “a visionary storyteller.” and it’s said he “entertained
the pilots in his command by telling stories set long ago, in far off
galaxies.” Some are selling on eBay for almost $200.

    1. Boba Fett Gets Kicked Out of Walmart

One enterprising Star Wars fan dressed up in Mandalorian Armor (Boba
Fett was Mandalorian) to celebrate Star Wars day and went into a
Pennsylvania Walmart. The fan carried an unmodified Silly String
Launcher toy with a big orange tip on the barrel and a sign that read
“May the 4th…as in May the 4th be with you! Happy Star Wars Day!”

They got kicked out of the store.

Happy Star Wars day! Are you going to celebrate? What’s the best Star Wars related party you’ve been to?

Boba Fett can shop wherever he wants. Especially in May. I didn't realize that all of the movies were released in May. Interesting!

It is kinda Alex. With the neck beard and all.

Boba Fett can shop at Target but not Walmart for some reason.
