Ten Super Reasons to Watch Smallville’s Season Nine Finale

I just saw the trailer for the Smallville’s season nine finale titled “Salvation.” While its far from my favorite television show, this looks like a dynamite episode. Here are ten good reasons to watch the season finale of the pre-adventures of Superman.

    WARNING: May contain spoilers!

    1. Green Arrows and Black Canaries – Two fan favorites come back as Green Arrow returns and Black Canary make an appearance. Not a big deal, but it gets better.
    2. Brown Chicken, Brown Cow* – Chloe Sullivan and Oliver Queen lock lips and share a passionate moment.

*Say the title fast if you don’t get it.

    3. 86% Chance of Rain – Apparently, there’s a hurricane in Smallville as Clark and friends spend a lot of time in pouring rain. Has the fiendish Lex Luthor stolen all the raincoats and umbrellas?!
    4. There Will Be Blood – Every season of Smallville ends with someone dying, about to die or being hurt, really, really badly. Season nine looks like no exception. It looks like Tess Mercer gets a “Two-Face” make-over with burns down the side of her face.

    5. Dark Side of the Moon – Apparently, there’s a solar eclipse as Clark and friends spend a lot of time under mood-lighting in the dark. Has the fiendish Lex Luthor stolen all the flashlights too?!
    6. Brown Chicken, Brown Cow 2* – Lois finally fulfills her season-long dream of kissing “The Blur” AKA Superboy AKA Clark Kent.

*Say the title fast again if you still don’t get it.

    7.  More Justice, More Society – At least Hawkman and Star Girl from the “Justice Society of America” return to Metropolis. Since Martian Manhunter’s been a season regular, we can expect to see him back too. That episode is my favorite so far, so this should be good.
    8. Purpose – Jor-El tells Clark his “purpose” for being sent to Earth, besides moping and whining a lot.
    9. Viva La Revolution – Zod sends a Kandorian army conquer Earth. We can look forward to armies of flying supermen (and superwomen) putting a beat-down on Clark.
    10. In Living Color – Here’s the biggest reason to watch: One tag line is “The answers are never black and white.” The final image is of a red and yellow Superman logo reflected in Clark’s eye. Could this be the season he wears the tights?

    Here’s the official synopsis:

Zod (Callum Blue) unleashes his army upon the world, forcing Chloe (Allison Mack) to call in reinforcements from old friends. Zod tells Lois (Erica Durance) he is The Blur and asks her to steal the Book of Rao from Clark (Tom Welling). Torn between Clark and The Blur, Lois asks Clark to come clean with her about everything but he refuses. Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) attempt to reconnect Watchtower’s satellite system in order to fight the Kandorians but to Chloe’s horror, Oliver gets caught on site and disappears. Tess attempts to stop Zod but he leaves her clinging to life. Clark and Zod battle for control of Earth.

Are these reasons enough to look forward to the finale?

Clark Kent's ability to bring law and order to our little world has touched on so many lives. How many has our superhero used up?

90% of what I thought would happen in the SMALLVILLE season finale didn't happen. Curse you CW for your well-edited promo teasers.

I agree Spacerguy. His story is universal. I'd say at least two. lol
