Friends Friday: TinTin Review, Baenglish, Moon Dying and More [Links]
Here are a collection of links you should read from our friends. These are not all the good ones, but the ones I thought were most worth sharing.
I don't know how, but Nubular from Cinemarvelous has an early review of The Adventures of Tintin [3D] (2011). It doesn't come out for two weeks! Check it out if you want an early peek. I said it's a "maybe", but he convinced me to change my rating. While you're there vote for him in the Movie 411 awards! Are you going to watch Tintin?
Alex has a guest post by a very funny German known as Edi. He asks Does Anyone Speak Baenglish??? Baenglish is "the wonderful mix of British English and American English which gives you the opportunity to use and invent words as you need them." Very funny. Check it out and check out his blog at Edi’s Book Lighthouse. I always meet the coolest bloggers from Alex's site. Do you know Baenglish?
There's another lunar eclipse coming! Mary has a post on the December 10th Lunar Eclipse. I'm glad I read this, otherwise I would have thought the moon was dying. That would have been embarrassing. If you want to calculate when it hits your town go here http://www.csgnetwork.com/lunareclipsecalc.html Are you going to watch the lunar eclipse?
Lydia has a nice piece about book buying called Book Buying Budget. I usually get mine from the library, so my percentage is low. I just don't have the room for more books. What's your book buying budget?
Arlee has a great post called I Wrote This Post Fifty Years Ago. It's a short story he wrote back in the 1960s! Talk about a flashback. Pretty good story too. Would you post a short story from your childhood?
Jim has a review of the Blade Runner prequel graphic novel call Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheet - Dust to Dust vol. 1 and it sounds pretty cool. You may want to pick it up from Amazon
. Would you read the graphic novel?

Thanks so much for mentioning Edi's guest post! He is an amazing guy and runs a great blog.
ReplyDeleteAfter Nebular's review, my expectations are high for Tintin!
Yup. I'll be getting up at ten to 4 this morning to get dressed for Siberia & meet my friend at 4:40. Then we have to hike up the lava butte. Should be interesting. Hope the clouds don't come in and spoil the eclipse fun.
ReplyDeleteI read the post on Alex's blog. I'm looking forward to seeing Tin Tin
ReplyDeleteI already voted for you even before you plugged my blog post--thanks for the mention. Saw most of the posts you mentioned, but I missed the eclipse and I was even awake while it was happening--doggone I could have seen it but didn't know about it until after it happened. Oh well.
