WHAT ONCE WERE MIRACLES ARE NOW CHILDREN’S TOYS

News You Can Abuse (On Booze)

Better than Slitherian toothpaste! Cheaper than having your arms replaced by computer-enhanced toaster ovens! Makes more sense than Pat Robertson in a blender!

Yes, the second collection of author Ira Nayman’s Alternate Reality News Service articles, “What Were Once Miracles Are Now Children’s Toys,” is now available!

“What Were Once Miracles Are Now Children’s Toys” contains the best science fiction journalism in the universe. Of course, it contains the only science fiction journalism in the universe, so it is also the worst. And, the seventh best. And, the twenty-seventh from the bottom. And …well, you get the idea.

Writing in Fantasy and Science Fiction magazine about “Alternate Reality Ain’t What It Used To Be,” the first collection of Alternate Reality News Service articles, reviewer Charles de Lint stated: “This is a great little volume to leave lying in the bathroom.” Uhh, no. Wait. That’s not the impression we want you to have. He also wrote: “Such as, for instance, when you combine sf and detective fiction.” Wow. Not helpful. OK, how about: “While the ideas are funny enough on their own, often it just gets better the further into the article you read.” There. That’s what we want you to think of the book. Please disregard the first two quotes.

“What Were Once Miracles Are Now Children’s Toys” is the next great work of science fiction comedy. Well, it could be. If several million people buy copies. And, you know, if you add up the number of copies sold in all of the universes in the multiverse, the odds are good that it’s already become a bestseller. Somewhere. So there you go.

The Alternate Reality News Service – come for the science fiction, stay for the political satire!

The Alternate Reality News Service – come for the political satire, stay for the science fiction!

The Alternate Reality News Service – come for the lowbrow humour and screw the science fiction and political satire!
