It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for another round of “would you rather,” the game that asks you to make the tough choices. In the question “would you rather live on Deep Space 9 or Babylon 5,” 77% voted for DS9. This week, let’s decide on the ultimate accessory.
The Scenario
You visit your local comic shop to find two new acquisitions on display. One is an amazingly realistic lightsaber, and the other is an amazingly realistic phaser from Star Trek. As you examine them, you realize they aren’t replicas. They’re real. The comic shop owner explains he found them on eBay, and thinks they fell through a dimensional wormhole. He’s asking a ridiculously low price because he’s afraid they’re illegal in this city, and wants to get rid of them.
The Ground Rules
- You can afford one of them, but only one of them.
- Whichever one you choose, the other will be destroyed. No going back for the other one.
- The lightsaber is Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from Star Wars: A New Hope.
- The phaser is from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
- If you choose the phaser, it comes with instruction manuals for you to learn how to operate it safely.
- If you choose the lightsaber, you’ll discover you’re strong in the Force and can wield it.
