Star Wars Pajamas Via The Mary Sue

How can you make your dog look like a Star Wars Hoth Monster? Who is joining the cast of Jurrasic World? What would The Hunger Games be like as an 8-Bit video game? How could Mace Windu return in Star Wars Episode VII?

Find out all of the Internet’s greatest moments in this week’s “Geek Bits.”

    10. Hey, Chris Pratt Could Star In ‘Jurassic World’! (via Huffington Post)

According to TheWrap, “Parks and Recreation” star Chris Pratt is in early negotiations to play the male lead in “Jurassic World,” the fourth film in the “Jurassic Park” franchise.

    9. Eight Thoughts About Doctor Who: The Night Of The Doctor

    8. Samuel L. Jackson Has An Idea On How He Can Get Into The Next ‘Star Wars’ Movie   (via Huffington Post)

“I’m not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more Star Wars. It’s like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I’m dead and we’ll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that’s still around that didn’t actually die.”

    Would Jackson return if asked?

“H**l yeah!… I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don’t care. I just want to stay associated with the franchise. Not that I won’t because I’ve been in three of them.”

    6. ‘The Hunger Games’ As An 8 Bit Video Game (via Geeky Nerfherder)

    5. I Want That: Pacific Rim action figures from Neca!(via JoBlo)

These awesome Pacific Rim Action Figures let you bring the battle for Earth to your home. Just make sure you use two people to play with the Jaegers.

“Neca toys produced a line of 7-inch action figures, intricately detailed, articulated, and finely crafted, which serve as a perfect robots vs. monsters addition to fuel the imagination of anyone from age four to age forty. Currently available are Gypsy Danger, Crimson Typhoon, and Knifehead, with two more additions, Stryker Eureka and Leatherback, set for release next month. In addition, a special 18-inch light up Gypsy Danger is in the pipeline for release as well, completing what is without a doubt the best of this summer’s action figure line-up for a movie tie-in. If you’re a fan of the film or action figures in general, then these PACIFIC RIM figures from Neca are hard to beat (and likely hard to find in the coming months). Grab ’em while you can!”

    4. Bigfoot Vs. Werewolves Movie in the Works – SAVAGE (via GeekTyrant)

The rights to a graphic novel called Savage have been acquired by Outlier and Pathbender production companies.. It’s a supernatural thriller which features Bigfoot facing off with a pack of rabid werewolves!

The trickiest part of the Tetris Stackable LED Desk Lamp is when you get the pieces blocked.

    2. ‘The Four Players:’ Evan Daugherty’s Gritty Four Part Adaptation of Super Mario Bros. (via /Film)

[Evan Daugherty] wrote and directed a four-part short film series called The Four Players, which is a gritty new take on Nintendo’s sacred property Super Mario Bros. The first two films, The Fixer, which follows Mario, and The Addict, which follows Luigi, are now online. The Star (with Princess Peach) and The Soldier (with Toad) will be online Friday. They’re pretty fun, check them out below. Variety alerted us to the films, which were produced by Polaris

    • Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (01×07) “The Hub”

Official Description: “The Hub” – Dangerous secrets are being kept from Coulson’s team, and he works the system to save Ward and Fitz when they are sent on a Level 8 classified mission that may end in tragedy in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” on the ABC Television Network. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons. Guest starring are Maximiliano Hernandez as Agent Sitwell, Charles Halford as Agent Shaw, Alison White as Marta and Ilia Volok as Vladimi. “The Hub” was written by Rafe Judkins & Lauren LeFranc and directed by Bobby Roth.

Another episode focussing on Fitz and Agent Burke when the team goes to the central S.H.I.E.L.D. facility known as “The Hub” and the pair are sent in on a mission. Skye continues to fight against her hacker instincts when she’s shut out of the discussions because she doesn’t have level eight clearance. In fact, Coulson said she isn’t even level one. There are more hints that Coulson has changed since his time in “Tahiti” (it’s a magical place) and it’s another strong espionage episode, but fans of superheroes will continue to be disappointed.

    • Arrow (02×06) “Keep Your Enemies Closer”
Official Description: DIGGLE GOES AFTER DEADSHOT — Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) sends A.R.G.U.S. agents to kidnap Diggle (David Ramsey).  Waller informs Diggle that Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) has gone missing after following a lead on Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe) in Moscow.  When Diggle tells the team he’s headed to Russia to rescue Lyla, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) decide to join, but things get messy when Isabel (guest star Summer Glau) shows up on the tarmac and insists on joining Oliver’s “work trip.”  Meanwhile, Moira’s (Susanna Thompson) lawyer, Jean (guest star Teryl Rothery), tells Thea (Willa Holland) that dating Roy (Colton Haynes), a known criminal, is hurting her mother’s case.  Guy Bee directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Beth Schwartz (A206). – via http://www.greenarrowtv.com
This was a strong Diggle episode and features the return of Deadshot and the introduction of H.I.V.E., A.R.G.U.S. and Amanda Waller (

      Cynthia Addai-Robinson

Cynthia Addai-Robinson). Flashbacks of Oliver and Sara’s second meeting show exactly how complex their relationship is. Speaking of relationships, Isabel and Oliver have a one-night (?) stand and it causes tension with him and Felicity which was surprising to me. I was extremely happy to see an interracial relationship between Diggle and Lyla. They didn’t have to make her character white, but it was a welcome surprise. We need more interracial married couples on TV.

    Books

    • Binary (Hard Case Crime) by Michael Crichton (as John Lange) (Recommended)

[Disclosure: This book was provided by Titan Books for review. This in no way affected the opinion of the author.]
Synopsis: “Political radical John Wright is plotting an act of mass destruction – and federal agent John Graves has him under surveillance, trying to figure out what the plot is. When a government computer is hacked and a high-security shipment of nerve gas gets hijacked, Graves puts the pieces together – but can he stop Wright from unleashing his weapon before it kills a million people…including the President of the United States?”

If I told you a story about a government employee that hacked into a government computer system and stole top-secret information, you’d think of Edward Snowden, but Crichton wrote it 40 years before him. Before Michael Crichton was a massive blockbuster author, with books like Jurassic Park, he wrote a series of pulp style novels under the pen name “John Lange.” As Lange, he wrote eight books between 1966 and 1972.

Even though this book was written in the 1960s, this taut thriller is as relevant and thrilling as anything else Crichton has written. The story has twists and turns that keep you engaged and is a welcome addition to any Crichton fan. By he way, I have no idea why there’s a naked woman on the cover, but it probably sold books.

I thought Thor: The Dark World was perfect blend of sci fi & fantasy.

I saw Pacific Rim recently and enjoyed it – but I always liked monster movies the bigger the better. My only fault with it was the fighting. Fist fighting is the best weapons an intelligent nation can come up with. Sorry, I know suspend your brain, but still it was a stretch, or maybe it's just me – I hate fist fights! Too fake, and too stupid. Even today i don't understand the excitement of boxing or wrestling – and that's fair when your empathic and feel each hit personally! Right?
Looking forward to Jurassic and Dr. Who – still not into Arrow yet – just don't get it either – think I need the comic books. LOL

    5. Pat Dilloway on November 16, 2013 3:05 am

It seems like on that site the only Pacific Rim figures left are the two monsters. Dang it. I'd love a Gypsy Danger or Striker figure.

    6. Shannon Lawrence on November 16, 2013 5:12 am

Wow, I had no idea Crichton had a pen name. Also, in werewolves vs. Bigfoot, I'm pretty sure the wolves would win. 😉

    11. Maurice Mitchell on November 16, 2013 6:06 am

That would be rough Yolanda. It's wierd that man's only defense is to build giant robots to punch each other. Not that I'm complaining.

    12. Shannon Lawrence on November 16, 2013 6:19 am

Definitely! Gentle giant and all that.

    13. Pat Dilloway on November 16, 2013 2:22 pm

You can find them on Ebay and Amazon though you'll probably end up paying more.

    14. Tony Laplume on November 16, 2013 3:52 pm

I'm sure a reasonable excuse could be made to keep Master Windu around. Although it would be advisable to keep the partying to a minimum. He's not a fan.

    15. Maurice Mitchell on November 16, 2013 7:07 pm

He's not a fan Tony? You mean the actor or Mace?

      ——– Original message ——–

    16. Tony Laplume on November 17, 2013 9:35 am

Mace's defining line, from Attack of the Clones, just after arriving on Geonosis, walking up to Count Dooku and Boba Fett: "This party's over." To my mind, that's his best scene, including the action that follows.

    17. Tony Laplume on November 17, 2013 9:37 am

It's worth noting that all his early pseudonymn books were just rereleased. So there's a bunch of them.
