Awesome Lego Kaneda’s bike from Akira (Gizmodo)

Who had a bitter, and hilarious, Twitter war? What are the catchphrases from all the Doctors on Doctor Who? Where will we see the next Stan Lee cameo? When will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. get it’s first major supervillain? Why did Boba Fett’s helmet change over the years? How many impressive costumes are there from Star Trek: The Next Generation?

Find out all of the Internet’s greatest moments in this week’s “Geek Bits.”

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer To Debut During Super Bowl? (via Screen Rant)

    No.

For those of you asking about a #gotg Super Bowl spot, there will not be one but we will have something incredibly awesome for you soon.

    8.  Deathlok & Lorelei Characters Joining ‘Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ (via Deadline)

For those complaining about the lack of supervillains in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, here’s the best news you’ll hear all day.

The character Mike Peterson, played by J August Richards on the series,
will become the cyborg [Deathlok]. “We’ve been leaving breadcrumbs along the way,”
Loeb said. “This is a major Marvel character appearing on TV, on film
    for the first time.”

He’ll appear in the next new episode on February 4th titled “Tracks” which will also include a cameo by Stan Lee. This is big news. Should I write a whole post on this topic?

Stephen Amell Sets The Record Straight On That Justice League Story (via Bleeding Cool)

Earlier this week rumors started that Stephen Amell was talking with the studio about playing Green Arrow in a future Justice League movie. Here’s Stephen’s denial. He couldn’t be more clear.

“Something I need to get off of my chest.

“When I do press, I try and be open, honest and thoughtful. That being
said… I find it incredibly discouraging to see a headline like the ones
I’ve been seeing this morning. Headlines that aren’t just a stretch,
they’re totally fabricated. At no point, have I had “studio level”
discussions about any feature films at Warner Bros.

“In this particular instance, when I read articles that take a pretty
straightforward answer and slap a title on it that has little to no
correlation to what I’ve actually said, it makes it seem as though I’m
disrespecting my current position. Which is bulls**t. And why would I do
that? I mean… I’m not the smartest dude in the world. (After all… I
picked a career in acting.) But would I really just casually subvert a
process cloaked in secrecy? A process – by the way – being run by the
company who currently employs me. C’MON!

“We’re making a kick a** show. We will continue to make a kick a**
show. And I will continue to interact and provide interesting content
for our fans. Because I love our fans. If every once and a while, some
d***weed wants to pull a headline out of thin air to generate page
views, then that’s the price we pay.” – Stephen Amell

    1. Know Your Doctor Who Catchphrase (via /Film)

    TV

Almost Human (01×08) “You Are Here” Recommended

    Official Synopsis: A self-guided
bullet that can track and kill specific targets is investigated by
Kennex and Dorian. Meanwhile, Maldonado takes another look at the
    ambush that almost killed Kennex.

A good episode that takes the plot of the Tom Selleck movie Runaway
(1984) with a nice moment between Kennex and Dorian that ends with the
phrase, “I like you to.” What makes this episode slightly confusing is
it was actually supposed to be the second episode of the season. That
means there are some plot points from the pilot that were dropped. For
example, Kennex goes to an anger management class, the investigation
into the police ambush and Kennex’ ex-wife. What happened to all that?

What did you think of the episode?

    Arrow (02×11) “Blind Spot” Recommended

    Official Synopsis: Laurel asks the
Arrow to investigate Sebastian Blood, but Oliver is unsure whether to
believe her accusations against the man he supports for mayor.
Meanwhile, Sebastian exposes Laurel’s drug addiction and has her
arrested; and Roy reveals his new super strength to Sin, who wants to
test out his abilities. Back on the island, Oliver is surprised when
Sarah reveals a secret about Laurel.

There are some major character changes
in this episode and most involve secrets being revealed. All of them
are exciting, but the most exciting is the revelation about Laurel’s
drug addiction. They’ve teased for a while that the character will
undergo major changes to become “Black Canary” and we may be seeing the
beginning of that. Plus, Roy punches through a brick wall! Whaaaaaaat?! No wait. it’s the return of Deathstroke that’s the real star.

What did you think of the episode?

I finally watched the first few episodes of Arrow and I liked it. It's like a TV version of the Nolan Batman movies. At some point I may get caught up.

Love the use of Doctor 8's minisode!

I waited the whole episode of Arrow waiting for Deathstroke, and was not disappointed!

But, I want a trailer for Guardians now. At this point I'll settle for a teaser trailer for the trailer.

I gave up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D awhile back. I really expected better of Marvel all things considered.

    7. Rusty Carl on January 24, 2014 10:59 pm

I'm bummed there won't be a Superbowl trailer for GoTG. I wasn't expecting one, but just mentioning it wasnt' going to happen made me want one.

      And the Robomug…. priceless
