What Avengers hero might be getting they’re own solo movie? When was
Taylor Swift attacked by a Street Fighter Character? Will Sam Wilson be
back in a Marvel film? How can you watch the final season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars? What letter of the alphabet is Batman?

Find out all of the Internet’s greatest moments in this week’s “Geek Bits.”

    By the Way

I’m not sure if you heard, but our “Visual Guide to Marvel Character Movie Rights” Infographic
went viral this week! Yaay! Thanks to everyone who liked it enough to
share it. You can’t have a viral post without people sharing it and we
    appreciate it.

    10. Wait, did Winter Soldier’s Falcon just confirm he’ll be back for more Marvel movies?(via Blastr)

Next week you’ll find out why I’m so excited for Falcon, but here’s
what Anthony Mackie said during an interview recently about his
    character’s costume.

Marvel is introducing a classic Captain America protege in Winter Soldier, and it sounds like the new addition could be sticking around for a while.

Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson (aka the Falcon) in the Captain America
sequel, opened up about his character in a recent interview with Total
Film magazine. Not surprisingly, Mackie notes that it was kind of hard
to interact with the rest of the cast on-screen when he was wings
strapped to his back and a bunch of wire-fu equipment. He also seemingly
confirmed that Falcon will be definitely be back for future Marvel
    movies. Hmm.

    “It’s 10 times tougher performing
with wings. I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m the only dude that’s on strings?
Everybody else gets to walk around or drive cars and I gotta fly?’ When
we had our first conversation about the movie, my biggest statement to
the Russos was, ‘You better not make me look like an idiot.’ That was my
greatest fear. Even though I wanted to wear red spandex, I was hugely
afraid of looking like a pigeon! As the Falcon aged [in the comics] and
grew up, his uniform grew up.

    “The
uniform we have now is the uniform of an adult… The Ultimate look gives
him a sense of purpose and makes him look like a badass. The wings can
look funny at times, so you have to do something to combat that – at no
point in time do you want him to show up on film and have people laugh.
That’s what we’ve been able to find, between the tactical suit and the
Ultimate suit. As the franchise goes on and you see more of me and
Captain America, the suit will evolve into the Ultimate look, the
hard-leather black look. The suit that he has in this movie is more of a
military suit because it’s the first time you see it.”

    9. Marvel Is Doing “Development Work” For a Black Widow Movie. But … (via The Mary Sue)

    Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige
said a thing. A thing about a Black Widow movie. Put your skepticism
caps on, we’re going for a ride.

    8. Sixth & Final Season Of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ To Stream On Netflix(via Deadline)

After resurrecting The Killing for a final season after its cancellation by AMC, Netflix is doing the same for Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The streaming service will debut a 13-episode sixth and final installment of the animated series on March 7. Titled The Lost Missions,
the season promises to reveal “some of the deepest mysteries of the
conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force leading to a
series finale.” An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret,
Anakin Skywalker’s closest relationship is tested to its limits, and
what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a
Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy. Under the
multi-year deal with Disney/ABC TV Group, Netflix will be the exclusive
subscription service for the entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars
series, including several director’s cut episodes never seen on TV, as
well as the 2008 feature film. This marks the first time any Star Wars
content has been available on Netflix. It also expands the fast growing
relationship between Netflix and Lucasfilm parent Disney. A year ago,
the two companies signed a groundbreaking output movie deal, the first
time a major movie studio had chosen streaming vs. pay cable for its
features. And recently, the companies sealed another unprecedented pact for four series and a miniseries from another marquee Disney label, Marvel. “The Clone Wars
marks an important moment as Netflix welcomes more and more first-run
content from The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries,” said Netflix
    chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

    7. ‘Jodorowsky’s Dune’ Trailer: Inducing Hallucinations Without Drugs (via /Film)

Decades ago the mad Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky spent a good deal of time and effort trying to film Frank Herbert‘s novel Dune. (This was years before David Lynch made his own adaptation.) Jodorowsky’s version of Dune
never came to pass, but the people he assembled for the adaptation
would go on to do other wonderful things (if they weren’t superstars
already), and that particular incarnation of Dune stands as a legendary movie that could have been.

    The documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune
chronicles this attempt to make the movie, and landed on my “most
anticipated of 2014″ list thanks to rapturous reception at festivals
such as Fantastic Fest. We’ve seen some footage from Jodorowsky’s Dune
before, but a new trailer has just come online, thanks to the US
distributor Sony Pictures Classics. Have a look at it below; if nothing
else check out the opening, where Jodoroswsky explains his titanic
ambitions for the film. It’s beautiful.

    6. ‘Sharknado 2′ Cast Unveiled; Production Starts Next Week (via Deadline)

Vivica A. Fox, Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne, Andy Dick, Judah Friedlander, and Judd Hirsch have been cast in Sharknado 2: The Second One – set to begin production next week. Throw your mind back to last month, when Syfy announced Ian Zierling and Tara Reid would pack up their chainsaws and head to Manhattan for Sharknado 2: The Second One,
which is set to trend on Twitter some as-yet-unspecified day in July.
Anthony Ferrante is again directing the screenplay by Thunder Levin –
this time about a freak weather system that turns its deadly fury on New
York City, unleashing a “sharknado” on the city’s population and its
most iconic sites, with sharknado experts Fin (Ziering) and April (Reid)
the only ones able to save the city.

    4. Taylor Swift Attacked At Grammys By Street Fighter Ryu (via Neatorama)

You’ve probably heard all the gossip about the 2014 Grammys by now-
Pharrell’s ridiculous Arby’s looking hat, the godawful outfit worn by
Madonna, Trent Reznor’s middle finger to the whole award show, and the
Grammys in general, and of course the hilarious way Taylor Swift reacted
to losing the Album of the Year.

But Taylor’s “react like I just
won then clap awkwardly when I realize I didn’t actually win” moment was
overshadowed by her piano rocking performance, which was totally
hardcore thanks to a little help from Street Fighter’s Ryu. Watch as he
kicks the young singer into action, keeping the beat with the bottom of
    his feet!

    3. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Will Lead Right into AGE OF ULTRON(via GeekTyrant)

Disney CEO Bob Iger [said] that [Captain America 2’s] storyline will “set critical events in motion” that lead into Age of Ultron which comes out on May 1st, 2015. I seriously can’t wait to see what The Winter Soldier has in store for us. As much as I loved The Avengers, I think that this movie will be even better. Iger went on to say, “I’ve
really been impressed with the early buzz that we’re seeing for the
Marvel films. Captain America 2 is just huge and it takes the Captain
America story to incredible new levels.”

    1. Rocket Raccoon And Groot Let Rip In Early Guardians Of The Galaxy Footage‏ (via Bleeding Cool)

Next week Tuesday we get our first official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy. But we’re already excited at these “concept animation” clips of Rocket Raccoon and Groot in action.

In case you missed it, here are all the gifs from the leaked Comic Con trailer:

Sharknado II – we knew it was coming…

    2. Pat Dilloway on February 14, 2014 3:15 pm

Do people really want to sit through another Sharknado? Since they didn't do any setting up for Avengers 2 in Iron Man 3 or Thor 2 I guess it's up to Captain America 2 to do all that setting up, since I doubt there'll be anything in Guardians of the Galaxy about that. When they come out I really want a Rocket Raccoon figure just because raccoons are awesome–until they tear up your garbage.

      Jodorowsky’s Dune Looked amazing!

My son and I will enjoy finishing the Clone Wars. The ending just didn't feel right the way they left it.

    6. Rusty Carl on February 15, 2014 2:23 am

If Taylor Swift got hit any more I think she'd write a song about the experience.

I'm looking very forward to the Clone Wars on netflix. Yay. And congrats on that Venn Diagram taking off.
