Spiderman Hasn't Replaced Black Panther in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

But Cinemablend noted a brief comment in an article in Variety about the difficulty of casting the new Spiderman. It said, "Spider-Man is only expected to have a cameo in Captain America: Civil War, so there wasn’t a rush to make a decision since the thesp would only be shooting for about a week."
As Cinemablend speculated, and we mentioned in our article about the announcement of Spiderman joining the MCU, they just didn't have time to change the movie around to fit Spiderman. With the script already written and filming already started, to change a major role from Black Panther to Spiderman would have been impossible. Bad news for Spiderman fans, good news for Black Panther fans. Kind of takes the sting out of having Black Panther's solo movie bumped for Spiderman's. A little.
Would you have wanted to see Spiderman in Civil War? Or are you happy to see Black Panther in the spotlight?

Either way I don't think it would have the impact of in the comic book when Spider-Man held a press conference to reveal his identity because as far as the MCU is concerned neither character will have existed for long.
ReplyDeleteI think easing Spiderman into the franchise is a better idea anyway. After two reboots, most people are a little burnt out on Spiderman.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Spider-Man's Cameo will be him saving Stan Lee again.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Black Panther's role hasn't been diminished.
That seems crazy to me that superheros can change teams. Like sports teams, huh? I learn something new every day. Thanks,Teach.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering who will win the scrap, black panther or spiderman? Theres always a showdown right?
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Black Panther, so I'd like to see him in a movie where he has a big role, rather than a cameo.
ReplyDeleteBeyond Thunderdome?
ReplyDeleteHaving more Simon Pegg involvement makes me happy.
I hope it's less stupid than the last two.
ReplyDeleteCaught that on Spacerguy's blog. I'm sure the title will grow on me.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly the best title ever. Still, have to wait and see if the film is any good. Make it so! :)
ReplyDeleteFingers-crossed, title... story... KLINGONS!
ReplyDeleteThe frenzy surrounding Star Trek beyond is growing. Its been a bit of a guessing game so far but maybe now that'll change. The Starfleet insignia is a step in the right direction.
