Weekend Box Office: "The Quiet Place" Back at #1 and "Rampage" Drops in Second Week

John Krasinski's "A Quiet Place" moved from number two last week back to number one despite several high-profile movies opening. It lost about 33% to make $22 million last weekend for a domestic box office gross of $132 million and a worldwide total of $207 million.

The Rock's action flick "Rampage" dropped one position to the number two spot by a hair. It lost about 41% to make $21 million for a domestic box office gross of $67 million and a worldwide total of $283 million.

Warner Bros.' "Ready Player One" dropped two spots to number six but stayed in the top ten spot. It lost about 35% from its third week to make $7.5 million. Right now it's domestic gross is $126 million and has a worldwide total of $522 million.

Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther" is in its tenth week and is still in the top ten at number eight. It lost around 20% over last week to make $4.6 million for a total domestic box office gross of $681 million and a worldwide total of $1.32 billion. The movie is doing well but probably won't beat "Avatar" to become the highest-grossing film of all-time ($2.7 billion). That said being the tenth highest grossing film of all-time is a great place to be.

Outside of the top ten, Walt Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time" dropped three positions to number 18 in its seventh week. It has a domestic box office gross of $94 million and a total worldwide cume of $123 million.

Universal's "Pacific Rim: Uprising" dropped five positions over last week to the number 19 spot in the fifth week. It lost 61% over last week for a domestic box office gross of $59 million and a worldwide total of $287 million.
