What show would you cancel before it gets lame?
New feature alert! Welcome to the first edition of "Hailing Frequencies" where we ask the question and you guys give the answer.
There have been many sci-fi and comic book television shows that are absolutely brilliant and sadly get canceled before it's time (I tip my 40 to your memory Firefly). Then, there are some shows that are great, but run out of steam way before the show actually gets the ax.
Please post a picture or clip from the show in question. And then please list the Name, and When it Deserved to be Canceled. Thanks!

Show: Heroes after the first season.
ReplyDeleteWhy? The first season was amazing and really set up a complex and powerful world of complicated villains in a cohesive storyline. The next season just felt forced, improvised and confusing. Whatever happened to "save the cheerleader?"
What Show? Heroes
ReplyDeleteWhen? After the first season.

The Show? Heroes
ReplyDeleteWhen? 2006. After the first season.

As I love the second season, I can never agree with this. And I love the third and I love the fourth.
ReplyDeleteThe Show: BattleStar Galactica
ReplyDeleteWhen: 2003, after the mini-series.
Why: The series could never hope to live up to the mini-series, and it never did. Should have remained a series of mini-series.
Heroes, Enterprise,...
ReplyDeleteSorry no clip, but definitely Heroes and by the second season.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Tony on Battlestar Galactica, but it could've gone through two seasons and then cram the remaining ones into one final season. Season three just did not forward the plot and by the end, I just wanted it to end.
Alias - I loved the first half of the first season... I've tried half a dozen times and can't get through the second season. Does it get better? I may never know. I just can't get through it.
ReplyDeleteGreat job adding the picture David. Lost is definitely up there
ReplyDeleteI like pictures! I get "Lost" on Google images daily!
ReplyDeleteTwo good ones. Which season of Enterprise? I never watched past the first few episodes, but I heard the later seasons were good.
ReplyDeleteYeah BIG was great at first but once they started a colony it lost its way.
ReplyDeleteFascinating idea. While I enjoyed the first few seasons the miniseries had a feeling of desperation the show couldn't capture.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture Rusty! I enjoyed Alias, but it gets bogged down in a quest I won't spoil. Give it a couple more episodes.
ReplyDeleteAwesome trivia facts, can't wait to bother my friends!
