Welcome to "Geek Bits" where we share the geekiest bits of the Internet for you. Which surprising cast choice is in the new TMNT reboot? How many bricks does it take to make a Lego X-Wing fighter? When will Sony sell Spider-Man back to Marvel?
Find out in this week's "Geek Bits."
I'm going to the Phoenix Comic-Con this weekend and wearing my first Cosplay costume! I've always wanted to do it, and decided this is my chance. The costume is a secret, but I'll share pics on Twitter this weekend. If you're not following us, then you'll never know! Here's a hint: He's a black superhero. You're welcome to guess in the comments, but I doubt you'll get it. ;) If you're in Phoenix Tweet me at @thegeektwins or @mauricem1972 and I'll look for you.
- Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles reboot is filming and Set Photos & Video show Megan
Fox As April O’Neil. I guess he got over her calling him Hitler. Patchwork Nerd is so mad about it though, she might boycott TMNT.Head there to see why. What do you think of Megan Fox's casting?
- There was a rumor that Sony Might Sell SPIDER-MAN
Movie Rights Back to Marvel, but /Film says it's
not going to happen. There's too much money at stake. The answer is
when pigs fly. Do you think Sony should sell the rights to Marvel films?
- Pat has an excellent review of the Watchmen graphic novel. You'll have to head there to see if he liked it or not.
Andrew Garfield shoots hoops with kids while dressed as Spider-Man.
- Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker pants from Star Wars were expected
to auction for $100,000 ,
but they sold for a respectable $36,000.
They're just Levi Khakis, so you can make your own for $78. Would you buy them?
Check out this life-size X-Wing Fighter made out of 5,335,200 LEGO bricks. Is it the greatest Lego model you've ever seen?

Japanese pizza came with lightsaber cutlery. Do you eat pizza with a knife and fork? (via Boing Boing)
- If you're barbecuing this weekend you may need this tactical BBQ
apron. You also might need to take some stress out with this Darth
Vader Stress Toy (via Think Geek)
- There's a big controversy over a scene with Alice
Eve in her underwear in Star Trek Into Darkness. I thought it was
funny. Both Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams have apologized saying it was gratuitous, but pointed out there was a scene with Chris Pine in his underwear and a deleted scene with Cumberbatch in the shower. Do you feel it was wrong?
- Doctor Who "The Name of the Doctor"
Fans have said this is the worst season of Doctor Who and most have not been memoreable. This episode made up for it by bringing back all the recurring characters this season. It was deeply emotional and surprising. The reveal of what happens when a Time Lord dies was epic, and seeing all eleven Doctors from archival footage and body doubles was great. I believed Clara was The Doctors daughter, but I like the real explanation better. Plus, we got to see River Song which is always great. Ironically we never did find out the Doctors name, but I can't wait for the anniversary episode in November.

- Revolution "Clue"
This is another so-so episode, although the scene with Nora being tortured and holding out for over two weeks was brutal and showed her loyalty. The discovery of a mole was predictable since there was only two people who could it could be. I also came to the realization that Charlie is completely useless to the show. Revolution was promoted to make her the main character, but she knows nothing, does nothing and has no useful skills.
- The Big Bang Theory "The Bon Voyage Reaction"
This was a hysterical episode and helped explain a nagging question: Why wasn't Sheldon jealous of Wolowitz for going in space? "Monkeys have gone into space." I'm sorry Lucy is gone, but I guess she wouldn't have fit in anyway. Some have speculated that Leonard is leaving the show next season which would be insane. A good end to the season though.
- Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
A couple of spoiler thoughts. First, Cumberbatch makes a great Khan even though he's not Hispanic. The Kirk plot device was ridiculous. So now, McCoy can make a magic potion to bring people back from the dead? Head to Tony's blog if you want to know more about the series history of Section 31. Where did it first appear?
